What You'll Do

The Financial Analyst will work with the FP&A team to assist in financial planning, control, and budgeting and to ensure compliance with all accounting policies, procedures, and obligations as they are related to FP&A. This is an entry-level role which will give recent graduates first-hand experience of applying financial and accounting principles in a real-world setting, in an exciting and growing business. 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for the central marketing team.
  • Manage monthly expense tracking to ensure budget compliance and forecast integrity.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, and Sales teams to gather financial inputs.
  • Contribute to the preparation and review of performance KPIs, ensuring data integrity and clarity for stakeholder reporting. 
  • Provide data and preliminary analysis to improve visibility into product, customer, and channel-level margins. 
  • Assist in syncing ERP financials with Adaptive Insights and help maintain reporting templates. 
  • Maintain and updating financial models and reporting templates.
  • Contributing to margin analysis and performance tracking across products and channels.
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Support efforts to automate and streamline financial processes.
  • We expect that you remain accountable for these goals and report your progress in performance reviews.
  • Adhere to Orgain’s environmental policies, including our environmental purchasing and recycling policies.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • 0-2 years of professional experience in finance, accounting or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience of a minimum of 3 years in a financial or analytical role may be considered.
  • Superior communication skills and experience working cross-functionally.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, familiarity with financial modeling, and reporting tools (Adaptive Insights preferred).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, reporting, and financial modeling, possess      exceptional analytical skills and the ability to understand the impact of operations on financial results.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to drive and influence complex decision-making with various stakeholder groups and build consensus.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Ability to consistently produce high-quality work (accurate, neat, and thorough). Strive to improve productivity, processes, and quality. 
  • Strong organizational skills; high-attention to detail with a strong level of commitment.
  • Self-directed with a demonstrated sense of accountability.
  • Proactive learner with an inclination to action.
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of a dynamic growth-oriented business.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Position located in Irvine, CA and requires 3 days a week minimum in office subject to change per business needs.
  • May include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt / Hourly

Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned to the associate from time to time; the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands. This job description does not constitute a contract of employment and the company may exercise its employment-at-will rights at any time. 


SALARY RANGE: $65,000 to $70,000 per year

Final salary is commensurate upon a variety of factors, including work location, experience, skills, field of responsibility, and education credentials of the associate.
