We are seeking a full-time Accounting Manager who will be responsible for daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks and activities. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely, however, preference will be given to candidates located in Central Ohio as occasional visits to our Canal Winchester, OH facility may be needed.
As an Accounting Manager at Capsa, your contributions to the team will include:
- Ensure all Capsa accounting transactions are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Capsa internal control policies.
- Monitor weekly GL posting for any issues and consolidate/rebalance the ledger as required.
- Prepare the monthly close schedule.
- Run Syteline Month-end closing process and generate all required reports for assigned sites.
- Prepare and post Pre-Close Recurring journal entries related to obsolete inventory, bad debt, PTO, management bonus, 401K expenses, legal, professional fees, amortization, depreciation, PDX Personal Property Tax and others as required.
- Approve Hub credit memo/manual invoice request.
- During the Month-end close process, responsible for several duties which include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare the blank journal entry template
- Prepare all applicable accounting folders
- Amortize all Pre-Paid expenses
- Prepare entries related to Warranty Expense and Sales Bonus Expense
- Prepare monthly entry related to financial statements from Agua Prieta
- Prepare monthly USD financial reporting of Robopharma
- Review and ensure accuracy of costs for IT department and other departments as assigned
- Clear the Suspense Account
- Post CAN Management Fee
- Clear Demo Freight from 43700 to proper department
- Put unit code 3 of 7000 on KL activities
- Book the AP accrual
- Review/Accrue unposted AP credits >$5K
- Prepare Sub-Ledgers to Ledgers entry AR/AP/Inv
- Prepare CIP report
- Prepare Rebate Journal entry
- Issue Department Statements
- Other duties as defined in the monthly close schedule.
- Responsible for fixed asset accounting and reporting.
- Run year-end Syteline jobs/processes.
- Prepare the Property Tax Return for the Portland site.
- Prepare work papers and supporting schedules for annual external audit.
- Participate in the monthly general ledger account reconciliation process and ensure assigned reconciliations are prepared in a timely manner.
- Support the monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statement Consolidation in Planful.
- Support year end and quarterly preparation of accounting estimates such as Warranty, Bad Debt, Etc.
- Research and analyze proposed accounting updates and then develop appropriate procedures to ensure proper adoption of new accounting updates.
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources to enhance the workflow of the department while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Interface with other departments to verify transaction report data and issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate policies, regulations, and laws.
- Other duties or special projects as assigned

- Bachelor’s Degree required with a major in Accounting or Finance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft office programs and knowledge of manufacturing ERP systems.
