Position: Quality Assurance Inspector I, Metal Fabrication
Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Quality Manager
Location: Bentonville, AR
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday)

Position Overview
The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector I is responsible for receiving, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft components and assemblies. This role spans composite, electrical, mechanical, metal fabrication, and hydraulic systems inspections. The QA Inspector ensures compliance with FAA-approved engineering instructions using a high level of integrity and sound judgement. Also, supports production through rigorous quality control. Additionally, the QA Inspector will assist in the connection of engineered requirements to the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Incoming Inspections: Verify conformity and quality of incoming components.
- Tool and Equipment Inspections: Conduct preliminary checks, including validating identification and calibration.
- In-Process Inspections: Assess composite and metallic components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies during construction.
- Functional Testing: Perform verification inspections to confirm proper equipment operation.
- Documentation and Reporting: Record non-conformances following company guidelines.
- Work Stoppage Authority: Halt processes where non-conformance occurs, maintaining compliance with FAA regulations.
- Process Audits: Conduct surveillance audits on production processes for policy compliance.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead or participate in investigations and corrective action initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Identify production inefficiencies and suggest potential improvements.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to interpret engineering blueprints.
- Experience in metal fabrication/welding, with knowledge of coordinate measuring machine (CMM) usage.
- Proficiency in precision measurement and basic shop math.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking, sitting, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, crouching, and reaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of composite experience in a Lean Manufacturing setting.
- Quality Control/Assurance experience in metal fabrication or welding, preferably in a manufacturing or repair station setting preferred.
