Job Summary:
What part will you play as a Licensed Electrician?
- GAF Energy is seeking a Licensed Electrician who will play an important role in our mission to harvest energy from rooftops and deliver ultimate customer satisfaction.
- This exciting role will report to the Electrical Services Manager and work within a cross-functional team to ensure the overall success of electrical services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on electrical experience with residential solar, EV, or stationary storage and thrive working in a fast-paced environment. With exceptional technical acumen, attention to detail, and strong communication skills, you can help us protect what matters most.
- This person will be responsible for providing in-field electrical services, troubleshooting systems, and teaching and training new electricians.
- Hold and maintain an active Washington Journeyman Electrician license (EL01 or EL02).
What will you be doing?
- Perform and lead installations of our PV electrical systems (Timberline Solar), as well as MPUs as needed.
- Oversee work of electrical crew, manage quality control of workmanship, and enforce compliance with all applicable codes, licensing agency rules, and other requirements.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and upgrade systems to ensure long-term system reliability and availability.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with partners, inspectors, and homeowners to meet and exceed system requirements and scheduled timelines.
- Develop and communicate technical standards to electricians.
- Keep accurate records of material consumption and proper maintenance of PPE and company vehicle.
What do we require from you?
- Active Washington General Journeyman Electrician (EL01) or Residential Journeyman Electrician (EL02) license is required.
- Active Oregon General Journeyman Electrician (J) or Limited Residential Electrician (LR) license is a plus.
- 3-4 years hands-on electrical experience related to residential solar, EV, or stationary storage systems.
- 1-2 years or equivalent experience leading/supervising an electrical crew.
- Ability to read, interpret, and verify calculations and correct electrical plans.
- Thorough working knowledge and application of NEC and workplace safety practices.
- Highly organized, accountable, thorough, and independent contributor.
- Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers both internal and external. This includes excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and email.
- Passion for craftsmanship and general comfort working with and around general tradespersons.
- Commitment to exceptionally high electrical standards.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, preferably with a demonstrated record of safe driving.
- Travel as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to wear safety equipment (weighing up to 15 lbs) and perform work at heights.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus are required.
- Must be able to walk, stand, and maintain balance on sloped surfaces such as roofs.
- Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and occasional climbing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing are required.
- Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of tools and equipment is required.
- Communicating verbally in person and through automated devices such as the telephone.
Individuals hired for this position can reasonably expect a base hourly salary within the range of $43-53/hr and an annual bonus.
