EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This will be a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. Applications will be accepted from all qualified individuals.

The examination may consist of a written examination. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The resulting eligibility list will be used up to six months to fill vacancies.

Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified by email, writing, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s). POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking qualified individuals to assist students individually or in groups with team sports, physical fitness activities and games in a school-site physical education program during school hours. This career opportunity is less than 20 hours per week, 9.5-months/year with paid holidays, sick leave and vacation. Applicants will be required to work three days/week during school hours between 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Hours and days may vary depending on the needs of the school site. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Graduation from high school equivalent. Applicants must also show sufficiency in educational requirements by meeting one of the following requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA), formerly known as the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB): • Possession of two years of higher education (i.e., 48 units or more); Or • Possession of an Associates Degree or higher from an institution of higher learning accredited as recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation; Or • Possession of proof that indicates you have passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST); Or • Obtain a passing score on the Fullerton School District Preliminary Instructional Assistant Proficiency Assessment; NOTE Instructional Assistant candidates who indicate they meet any of the educational requirements listed above must attach a complete and legible copy of their college transcripts and/or degree to their online application. Failure to include the required documentation will result in the applicant being required to take and pass the Instructional Assistant ESSA exam. Experience: Recent experience in working with children or youth groups, and instruction in a physical fitness and recreation environment. This position either assists the P.E teacher during instruction/school hours or in an after school environment (i.e., after school program)
