Under the supervision of the Site Principal, assist students with special education designations and works daily within classroom settings.
- Support students identified as having special needs in the general education classroom and/or an alternate setting
- Assist students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in their understanding of new concepts
- Collaborate with Education Specialists, staff members, and administrators
- Set up and operate assistive technology devices and other teaching aids as well as demonstrate their use with other IEP team members
May perform any combination of the following:
- Assist students in their understanding of new concepts
- Repeat, scaffold, differentiate, and/or reinforce instruction to assist students with comprehension of academic material
- Provide instruction and assistance to students individually and in small groups within the classroom setting, Speech, or other Mild/Moderate settings under the direction of the Education Specialist
- Set up and operate audio-visual equipment and other teaching aids
- Assist in the supervision of students on-campus and during off-campus field trips
- Assist Educational Specialist in the collection of student data.
- Adapt lesson materials as directed by the Education Specialist and/or the General Education teacher and/or other support staff
- Provide support to maintain a structured, student-centered and friendly environment
- Attend site and district staff meetings and professional growth workshops
- Follow District health and safety practices and procedures
*May be assigned to work 1:1 with a student in a general education setting

2024-2025 Classified Salary Schedule - Range 4 (Placement dependent on experience)

- One (1) at Bonsall Elementary School
- One (1) at Sullivan Middle School
This is a 6.5 hour/day, 5 day/week position on the 10-month employee calendar. Work hours are designated at 8:00am - 3:00pm with a 30-minute lunch. Employee health and welfare benefits are included at no cost.
