The Byron Union School District is a TK - 8 district located in Byron, CA with approximately 1,200 students and 180+ staff members, with two elementary schools and one middle school serving the communities of Byron and Discovery Bay. The district also offers an independent study program (Byron Institute of Independent Study) serving grades K-8. The School Based Mental Health Counselor is responsible for providing direct Mental Health services to students ranging from the ages of 3-14, under through general education and IDEA. This person will be responsible for providing Individual and Group Counseling, and Counseling and Guidance services to special education students, as well as students in general education on a referral basis. This person will also be an active participant of the student's IEP and MTSS/SST meetings, including development of goals and objectives, implementation of the IEP goals and data collection on progress.
