The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools office acts as an intermediate service agency between the California Department of Education and the 33 school districts in San Bernardino County to help meet the educational needs of all children county-wide. Job Summary
Under the direction of the Curriculum and Instruction and Academic Enrichment (CIAE) director, the Curriculum Coordinator, Literacy is responsible for the development, coordination, and management of Countywide English-Language Arts (ELA) and History Social Sciences (HSS) services and programs designed to accelerate and improve, students’ literacy skills in grades 4-12. This position will provide, guide, coordinate, develop, disseminate, and evaluate ELA standard-based curriculum for grades 4-12. The position will include servicing and managing the on-going operations, processes, and procedures in support of local school districts and ELA programs, related SBCSS services, and providing support to the other potential county and district branches to implement other state reform initiatives and mandates.

Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Possession of a Master’s degree (or higher) in Education or a related field from an accredited college or university;
•Possession of a valid California Administrative Credential or Certificate of Eligibility (COE);
•Possession of a valid California Clear Multiple Subject or Single Subject Teaching Credential with authorization to teach ELA or H/SS;
•Possession of a valid English Learner (EL) authorization (ex: CLAD, BCLAD, etc.);
•Five (5) years of experience teaching in a 4-12 grade school setting including experience teaching diverse learners (i.e., EL and students in special education);
•Experience working with comprehensive support and improvement in Differentiated Assistance schools and/or districts;
•Experience in English-LA/literacy curriculum development and/or coach;
•Experience designing, implementing, and/or monitoring ELA/literacy programs;
