Job Description

55% - Social Media Content Development and Management 
  • Develop and implement content for #BeMoreLikeClaire social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn).
  • Design, manage, and organize materials and communications.
  • Manage social media engagement by engaging with followers, reposting partner content, etc.
  • Identify areas and strategies for social media opportunities to increase community and network engagement.
  • Analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of outreach activities and make data-driven decisions for improvement.
30% - Website Content Development and Management 
  • Write and maintain content on Claire’s Community website (Wix).
  • Review and analyze web traffic data to assess engagement and effectiveness.
15% - Other relevant duties as assigned by the site supervisor and program staff 
  • Participate in #BeMoreLikeClaire staff and other meetings as appropriate.
  • Participate in weekly training and reflection sessions provided by KU Center for Service Learning staff.

Work Schedule

10 hours per week. Expected work hours will fall within Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm with some Saturday and Sunday availability required with prior notice and agreement.

Advertised Salary Range

$11.00 per hour

Position Overview

The Student Community Action Corps Program facilitates the engagement of KU students with various community organizations, programs, or support in community-engaged efforts. Student employees will support their partner organization and/or program with various tasks and projects while receiving training and support from Center for Service Learning staff. 

The #BeMoreLikeClaire Social Media Support Corps Member will coordinate with the Executive Director and Outreach and Operations Coordinator to create, monitor, and manage social media content for outreach and engagement activities within the #BeMoreLikeClaire social media platforms.  The Member will also review and update the claires-community.org website for materials to include any updated resources to prevent interpersonal violence and promote healthy relationships.

Position Requirements

During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Employment Conditions

(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
