Certified Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position supports our commitment to intentional, play-based learning aligned with the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS), while promoting the district’s Vision of the Learner. The ideal candidate is nurturing, collaborative, and dedicated to supporting each child’s growth across all developmental domains, while fostering partnerships with families and the community. This role is partially funded by School Readiness that will transition into an Early Start CT grant and the candidate must adhere to the required grant components.

Required Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut Teaching Certification in Early Childhood, including one of the following endorsements:
#112 – Integrated Early Childhood/Special Education, Birth–Kindergarten
#113 – Integrated Early Childhood/Special Education, Nursery–Grade 3
#065 – Pre-Kindergarten–Kindergarten
#071 – Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6 (with preschool experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement intentional play-based instruction aligned with the CT ELDS and grounded in developmentally appropriate practice
Support children’s social-emotional development using strategies and resources to foster a positive sense of self and peer relationships
Assist with the administration of developmental screenings (e.g., ASQ, ASQ:SE) to guide instructional planning and support
Engage and collaborate with families using effective communication strategies and family engagement tools
Participate in continuous professional development and reflective practice to enhance teaching and learning
Align all instructional and interpersonal practices to the Milford Public Schools Vision of the Learner, fostering independence, critical thinking, and citizenship
Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, administrators, and support personnel to ensure individual student needs are met
Maintain accurate documentation for compliance with School Readiness and Early Start CT Grant requirements
Contribute to the program’s pursuit of NAEYC Accreditation through curriculum fidelity, assessment, and high-quality teacher-child interactions
Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all children
