Position Description: Early Childhood Floater Support Reports to: Site Director Status: Exempt Responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers to determine the needs and provide for the development of children birth through five
Work to create a safe environment for children
Implement and maintain all components regarding children birth through three, based on EHS, State Pre-K, Child Care and state and local requirements
Perform secretarial and clerical functions of a general nature including but not limited to:
Assist with maintenance of staff file folders
Maintain class lists and updated emergency information (2 sets).
Answer the telephone, take messages, route calls and represent the agency to callers.
Perform various office-related errands as needed.
Maintain neat and orderly lobby area-ensure all materials and supplies are organized.
Ensure on-time and accurate collection of data using organization's database and/or funder databases.
Qualifications:
Strong alignment with Christopher House’s Values and Mission;
Strong work ethic coupled with a proactive problem-solving approach;
Passion for working with children;
Bi-lingual skills in English/Spanish is desirable
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, walk, go up and down stairs daily, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
**Must be willing to register for internal CDA Certification program or register for a minimum of 6 credit hours in early childhood or child development. Christopher House will cover the cost for these courses Education:
High School Diploma or GED Degree
CDA preferred
