Collaborating with the artistic team to direct the show choir.
Working with the artistic team to develop programming for the choir.
Choreographing/staging all musical numbers and teaching the choreography/staging to all of the members of the choir.
Developing a vision for the end-of-term performances, including staging elements, costumes and lights.
Attending all weekly rehearsals throughout the fall and winter terms, technical rehearsals and performances.
Assisting with production and marketing for all productions/events in the 2024-25 season where needed.
Attending and participating in regular meetings with artistic and production staff throughout the 2024-25 season.
Skills Required:
Previous skills and experience support ability to make a positive contribution to all tasks related to the smooth functioning of Vanier College Productions.
Highly organized, energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about theatre and community building.
Previous experience working in theatre, performing/visual arts, or a related field.
Demonstrated confidence and belief in, and ownership over their work.
Adaptable, flexible, and respectful with regard to their work and co-workers.
Demonstrated excellence in prioritizing tasks with superior attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work flexibly with competing deadlines.
Ability to accurately complete tasks diligently and on time.
Ability to think outside of the box.
Previous success thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills.
Experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds/cultures.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality and eagerness towards new experiences and learning.
Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team with students, volunteers and staff.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Strong technical background in various dance styles and choreography
Adaptable, flexible to and embrace changes in creative development
Excellent coaching and interpersonal skills.
Solid understanding in show trends, audience preference in performing arts field.
Reports to: Principal/Supervisor.
Evaluation: Annually at a minimum by the Principal.
