WyoTech’s Student Life Team is seeking a dynamic leader to foster student engagement and support retention through a positive campus environment. This role oversees housing and student services, manages Student Life staff, and ensures accurate student records and well-maintained facilities. The Student Life Manager’s primary focus should be fostering an environment that creates the best student experience. Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the direction of assigned personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
  • Assist the Director of Student Life in his/her duties as necessary
  • Assist in promoting and organizing student organizations and clubs
  • Assist in maintaining compliance in areas including but not limited to - Clery Act Reporting (Annual Security Report), Title IX, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Drug Free Schools Act, Constitution Day, Americans with Disabilities (ADA)
  • Plan, promote, and organize educational/prevention programming in areas including - Alcohol/Drugs, Mental Health/Suicide, Conflict Management, Homesickness
  • Coordinate and organize community resource referrals and student crisis response
  • Coordinate student community orientations and actively seek out community partnerships that benefit students
  • Collaborate with all departments to promote student experience and success
  • Assist students with adjusting to student life, roommate conflicts, homesickness, and other obstacles that may prevent the student’s success
  • Coordinate room assignments, housing placements, and move-in/move-out logistics 
  • Maintain accurate housing records (assignments, occupancy, vacancies) 
  • Enforce housing policies 
  • Coordinate housing inspections and damage assessments 
  • Oversee housing application processes
  • Foster a positive living-learning community within the residence halls
  • Provide after-hours or on-call crisis response for residential students 
  • Educate students on residential policies and expectations during orientation 
  • Collaborate with facilities/maintenance teams to schedule repairs and upgrades 
  • Assist with emergency housing or temporary accommodations 
  • Participate in emergency planning and drills specific to residential housing 
  • Assist in disciplinary actions related to the Housing Handbook and Student Code of Conduct 

Requirements

  

Minimum Requirements (A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent of, would be qualifying)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in student services, residence life, student activities, counseling, or related fields
  • Experience handling student conduct, conflict resolution, or behavioral intervention is a plus 
  • Ability to foster inclusive, engaging campus environments
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with FERPA, Title IX, and Clery Act compliance
  • Strong organizational and event planning skills 
  • Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed for events and emergencies
  • May require on-call availability for residential or behavioral issues 
  • Valid driver's license
