Do you thrive in a fast-paced & upbeat office environment? Phillips Chevrolet is currently seeking to fill a Full-time Payroll Specialist. This position requires 7:30am - 4pm Monday-Friday schedule. We do prefer someone with automotive office experience so they understand the process. We are willing to grow candidates that are self-motivated, organized, hard-working, and have great communication skills. Payroll experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Input accurate data from manager submissions and audit against payroll worksheet
- Audit time-clock reports and ensure errors corrected by management prior to download to payroll
- Process all employee benefits
- Calculate and process any garnishments, child support and medical support orders, bankruptcy deductions and tax levies
- Submit payroll bank batches prior to the cutoff time each pay period
- Audit sales commissions
- Key all journal entries within the month expensed
- Clean schedules after each payroll
- Audit clearing account after each payroll
- Assist employees with payroll questions as needed
- Work with departmental managers on any pay issues that arise
- Ensure all pay change requests are signed by management
- Audit personnel and confidential files routinely for accuracy
- Process and pay all payroll taxes timely
- Verify aftermarket commissions
Job Requirements:
• 2+ years of In-house payroll experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid organizational and multitasking skills
• The ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Tekion experience a plus
