As the first-line IT Support Technician, you play a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations for on-site and remote employees. This is a hands-on, employee-facing role that requires strong technical skills, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Remote work is not available for this position.
You are responsible for configuring new hardware, resolving technical issues, and supporting users across various departments. You’ll work closely with the IT Manager and the IT Tech Group to maintain technical standards and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives. You will also handle the day-to-day operations of the EDI system including transaction monitoring, issue resolution and partner onboarding
Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Serve as the first point of contact for all technical support requests via phone, email, or in person.
· Provide timely and effective support through the IT Ticketing System.
· Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications according to company standards.
· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
· Support users with Microsoft Office 365, Windows OS, and other enterprise applications.
· Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup and equipment provisioning.
· Participate in periodic software upgrades and IT infrastructure projects.
· Maintain accurate documentation of issues, solutions, and procedures.
· Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex issues.
· Serve as EDI Coordinator, configure and maintain EDI systems, ensure the seamless exchange of business documents between the company and its trading partners using standardized electronic formats (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
· Monitor daily EDI transactions, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve EDI-related issues that arise during the data exchange process.
· Collaborate with other departments and trading partners to ensure smooth EDI operations and understand business processes; train and support internal users on EDI processes.
Additional Responsibilities
· Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
· Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures.
· Provide basic training or guidance to users on IT tools and best practices.
· Support conference room technology and AV equipment as needed.
Skills, Education and/or Experience
The following are education and experience criteria used to evaluate the suitability of the IT Support Technician profile or candidates for the position:
Education and Experience
· Certificate or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
· 1–2 years of experience in a technical support or help desk role preferred.
Technical Skills
· Project management experience
· Proficiency with Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, and Active Directory.
· Familiarity with networking basics (IP, DNS, DHCP).
· Familiarity with EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT)
· Scripting (Java) and basic SQL
· Understanding of ERP systems (Infor, AKA, H5)
· Experience with imaging tools and endpoint management systems is a plus.
· Knowledge of ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, or similar).

Job Conditions
Physical Demands
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
· Must be able to bend and reach items at ground level and above the head.
· Must be able to work on feet, standing and walking throughout the facility.
· Must be able to wear PPE; to include, but not limited to, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, face shields.
Work Environment
· The work environment is primarily in an office setting.
· This position is based in a professional office setting. The role requires regular use of computer software and enterprise systems, handling confidential information, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
· When on the factory floor, you will encounter a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, moderate noise levels, and varying temperatures. The environment requires adherence to strict safety protocols.
