Job Title: Records Manager / Information Management Specialist
Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (Remote with occasional travel to Silver, Spring MD)
Employment Type: Immediate Opening | Full-Time

Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) is currently seeking a Records Manager / Information Management Specialist to support a federal project. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced records professional with strong knowledge of federal records management policies, information governance, and digitization processes to join a high-impact project team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting records inventories and gap analyses
  • Developing and maintaining file plans and records control schedules
  • Reviewing and updating records management (RM) policies and SOPs to align with HHS and NARA regulations
  • Planning and executing RM training, outreach, and clean-up activities
  • Supporting the development of digitization and disposition plans for paper and electronic records
  • Assisting with business analysis tasks including requirements gathering, policy review, and survey design
  • Creating RM training materials and awareness campaigns
  • Contributing to SharePoint content development and collaboration efforts

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: 
    • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in federal records and information management. 
    • Certified Records Management (CRM) or equivalent a strong plus 
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with electronic recordkeeping practices (e.g., email, imaging, cloud storage, social media records)
    • Experience developing records schedules and conducting federal records inventories
    • Strong working knowledge of NARA and HHS records requirements
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint

Additional Information:

  • Work Environment: Mostly remote; occasional travel required to site in Silver Spring, MD
  • Citizenship Requirements: U.S. Citizenship may be required for access to federal systems or facilities
