ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate business requirements into specifications and design, as well as perform, the required functional and non-functional tests before releasing the software (develop, test, and deploy custom applications and software solutions).
- Analyze deficiencies or possible technical or process-related enhancements and propose adequate solutions to fill the gaps and improve existing applications (Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications).
- Verify change requests, specify the software requirements, make the required modifications in the respective applications, test and document these changes.
- Participate in the activities (planning as well as execution) in cooperation with the teams in Switzerland, Slovakia, Spain and Malaysia.
- Be part of a programming group and work in an agile environment (Jira sprints)
- Document developments for involved stakeholders
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS – REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience in a software development environment
- Practical experience in object orientated programming technologies (e.g. C++, C#, Java etc.)
- Practical experience in Microsoft programming technologies (mainly Visual Basic 6)
- Good knowledge of and experience with relational database design and familiar with software deployment methods
- Basic analytical skills to translate business processes into technical solutions
- Consultative attitude to guide the business to formalize business processes and requirements
- Well organized, constructive, and committed work as well as team spirit and strong communication skills
- Action and results oriented personality with ability in a matrix organization
- Fluent in English; German or French is an advantage
