Offploy is working with a high performing provider of education, training and employability services to prisoners and offenders. Their through the gate team are looking for 4 full time resettlement caseworkers for HMP Highdown - 2 permanent full time and 2 full time on a 6 month contract.
Over the years they have built a reputation as an innovator in the fight to reduce re-offending rates by transforming people`s lives through learning and skills. They now have a great opportunity at HMP High Down to join the education team as a Resettlement caseworker.
Key Responsibilities
The purpose of the resettlement casework role is to ensure, via appropriate assessment, that prospective and existing clients receive relevant and easily understood information regarding resettlement provision in custody and continuing support on release on licence and on Post Sentence Supervision.
As a resettlement caseworker you will provide a comprehensive resettlement planning service to prisoners, and review resettlement plans at agreed stages of a prisoner’s sentence. You will take the lead on the delivery and coordination of resettlement plan interventions, provide casework support and supervision.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
As a Resettlement caseworker you will have:
- Experience of working with individuals who have multiple and complex needs, in prison and on release
- The ability to develop constructive relationships with offenders
- Outstanding people skills, including being a good listener
- or be willing to work towards a level 3 information, advice and guidance qualification within an agreed time scale
- or be willing to work towards level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy within an agreed timescale
Due to location and limited access by public transport it would be beneficial (not essential) that you have your own transport.
