We have an opening for a Vice President – Consumer Lending at our Arnold headquarters.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Consumer Lending to lead the development, management, and performance of our consumer lending portfolio. While sales and loan growth are a focus, this role is first and foremost about ensuring portfolio quality, performance integrity, and risk management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in credit, portfolio analytics, and loan operations, with a clear understanding that asset quality beats volume.

This member of our leadership team is responsible for developing and executing innovative lending strategies that drive sustainable loan growth within the consumer lending area, while overseeing enhanced member satisfaction.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will manage all aspects of lending—including product development, loan processing, underwriting, compliance, and portfolio management—while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance. You will also play an active role in strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration to support the credit union’s long-term growth objectives.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after six months of employment.

 What will you be responsible for:

• Develop and execute lending strategies that align with organizational goals, drive sustainable loan growth, and ensure a competitive and compliant lending portfolio.
• Lead all aspects of consumer and mortgage lending, including product development, underwriting, loan processing, compliance, and portfolio management to ensure operational excellence and regulatory adherence.
• Partner with executive leadership and key departments to identify growth opportunities, enhance member experience, and implement innovative lending solutions that meet evolving market and member needs.

Requirements

 What qualifications/skills does this position require?

• Minimum of seven years of financial service experience leading consumer and mortgage loans at a senior level.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Excellent human relations, communication, business development, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced knowledge of industry trends and the ability to analyze data, prepare executive-level reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
