Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy is seeking a highly-qualified Instructional Coach in Colorado Springs, CO dedicated to providing a superior education for all students in our upcoming 2025-2026 school year!
The Instructional Coach plays a vital role in advancing the instructional quality across the school by providing support, guidance, and professional development to teachers. The coach will partner with instructional staff to enhance instructional practices, support student achievement, and build a culture of continuous improvement.

About the Opportunity:
- Support full curriculum implementation by guiding teachers in the effective use of instructional resources aligned to the Banning Lewis Academy Instructional Framework, with a focus on Capturing Kids’ Hearts, 7 Steps to a Language-Rich Interactive Classroom, and the Gradual Release of Responsibility model.
- Facilitate induction mentorship for teachers moving from Initial to Professional licensure.
- Lead targeted teacher cohorts focused on differentiated professional growth throughout the year.
- Serve as the secondary campus coaching lead by supporting part-time coaches, clarifying expectations, tracking coaching cycles and time, and reporting progress to campus leadership.
- Assist teachers in differentiating instruction based on student needs using a variety of strategies, including instructional grouping.
- Review lesson plans and provide timely, constructive feedback when appropriate.
- Conduct frequent classroom observations followed by individual coaching debriefs using Impact Cycle Coaching model from Jim Knight.
- Model effective teaching strategies and best practices in instructional delivery.
- Deliver targeted professional development aligned with school goals and academic standards.
- Coach teachers to improve instructional planning, instructional practice, and classroom culture.
- Analyze multiple sources of student achievement data to identify barriers to learning and opportunities for instructional improvement.
- Monitor and support the use of data (e.g., standardized assessments, classroom assessments, Star Renaissance, Think CERCA) to drive instructional decision-making.
- Provide ongoing support for academic intervention programs and assess their effectiveness using data.
- Build strong relationships with families to foster confidence in classroom instruction and the overall school program.
- Lead and coordinate special instructional initiatives such as peer mentoring, service learning, and community engagement projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Current, active professional teaching certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience.
- At least 2 years of experience as an Instructional Coach, Teacher Leader, or similar leadership position preferred.
- Demonstrated success in improving student academic outcomes.
- Deep knowledge of State Standards and Common Core State Standards.
- Proven ability to use various forms of data to assess student performance and guide instructional planning.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with staff, students, families, and other stakeholders.
- Proficient with instructional technology and common digital tools.
- Successful completion of federal and state background checks.
- Experience working in urban and/or school turnaround environments preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation and benefits information below is accurate as of the date of this posting. The Company reserves the right to modify this information at any time, with or without notice, subject to applicable law.
The annual starting salary for this position is $58,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
We offer the following benefits for full-time positions, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, 10 paid holidays annually. All eligible employees will participate in Colorado’s Family & Medical Leave Insurance Program, in accordance with state law.
Paid Time Off: The amount of Paid Time Off (PTO) employees accrue is determined by both their position and the length of their employment term. Employees could accrue up to 10 days of paid time off for 10-month roles, 11 days of paid time off for 11-month roles and 15 days of paid time off for 12-month roles.
We offer several plans to choose from, with a wide range of deductibles and co- insurance levels. We offer plans with set co-pays for certain medical services, as well as a high deductible plan with set co-insurance levels after deductibles have been met. All plans offer both in-network and out-of-network coverage. We also offer flexible spending and health savings accounts.
