How we LEAD:
The Senior Director, North American Royalty stands as the key Incoming Royalty stakeholder within UMPG’s North American territory. This position owns process expertise for the territory, leads the local royalty team, and liaises with the company’s Global Royalty, Finance, Business Affairs, and greater Administration teams. The position reports to the VP, North American Administration.
This role is on a Hybrid work schedule.
How You’ll Create
Act as the key liaison between the North America Royalty processing team and Finance, Business Affairs, and administration counterparts as the territory’s Royalty expert.
Lead a team of royalty staff in processing all income for the North American territory, providing mentoring, coaching, and leadership to the royalty unit.
Share ownership and expertise in North American royalty processing initiatives and assist the Global Royalty team with reconciliation and technical endeavors as challenges arise.
Manage the organization of royalty affecting cash receipts for North America royalty processing.
Maintain tools, dashboards, and reporting for cash receipt management, providing detail to Global Royalty and Finance teams as part of the collective unprocessed management and ownership.
Complete quarterly cash reconciliations and unprocessed cash listings for North America.
Review and approve all royalty processing JIRA tickets, statement cross reference entries, complete quarter-end royalty reviews, and authorize the territory’s final royalty runs.
Own the process management for settlement and proxy processing, liaising with Finance, Business Affairs, and Global Royalty teams.
Assist as a key contributor to the monthly Sync process by supporting the royalty team in reconciliation and master processing by liaising with Finance, Sync, Copyright, and Global Royalty teams.
Maintain income source relationships and ensure consistent access and operability of external royalty portals and SFTP relationships.
Contribute as a key stakeholder in the company’s system and process development from the local territory perspective.
Provide support and detail for various audits in partnership with the company’s audit stakeholders.
Partner with North America administration counterparts to provide direction for processing adjustments.

8+ years of experience serving in music publishing administration with an expertise in royalties.
Proven mastery in navigating a high volume of priorities while exhibiting excellence in time management, productivity, and efficient workflow.
Proven track record as an impactful people leader.
Effectiveness in thinking proactively and anticipating the future needs of the greater team.
Ability to connect people, collaborate across teams, and build relationships to impact business solutions and influence decision making.

Experience collaborating with I.T. professionals in which business needs are communicated, built, and resolved with technical staff.
