Your Impact
The Data Ingestion & Movement team powers the Axon Ecosystem by reliably moving petabytes of customer data with 99.9% uptime. As we gear up to scale 10–20× to meet surging onboarding demands, you’ll architect and optimize pipelines for throughput, reliability, and developer usability. The team owns the most critical problem within the customer onboarding space today and sits at the intersection of software and data engineering.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the team, you will partner closely with Product Managers, Staff Engineers, and the internal customers to scale the data movement platform. As we enter our next phase of growth, we’re seeking a seasoned engineer to spearhead the design and implementation of scaling strategies, ensuring the platform remains robust under ever-increasing workloads.

What You’ll Do
Location: Remote near our Seattle, WA office or remotely near our Scottsdale, AZ headquarters
Reports to: Senior Engineering Manager
Direct Reports: None
- Design and implement new features for the next generation Data Movement Platform
- Own throughput optimizations to support 10× data growth
- Work closely with customers and design top-priority features
- Lead engineering architecture and design reviews
- Build the technical roadmap for the Data Movement Platform
What You Bring
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering
- Experience designing for high availability, reliability, security, and performance
- Experience building complex and impactful software in a team environment
- Expert in at least one object oriented backend language such as C#, Java, Scala
- Proven experience scaling distributed systems for 10x growth
- Experience mentoring and growing junior engineers
Nice to Have
- Experience with NoSQL databases, such as Cosmos DB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra
- Experience with DevOps technologies like Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Docker
- Experience building, operating and scaling data movement platforms

Pay Transparency
The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 141,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 225,600 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
