The Department of Psychology at High Point University is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the undergraduate level beginning August 2026. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program. ABD candidates will be considered with the understanding that the doctoral degree must be completed by the start date of employment.

High Point University is a medium-sized, liberal arts university in central North Carolina, with approximately 5,000 undergraduate students. HPU is dedicated to the student experience. It offers consistent research support and an overall competitive employment package. The Psychology Department offers a B.S. in psychology with approximately 250 majors and 135 minors.

Qualifications:  

We invite teacher-scholars who are committed to excellence in teaching and who approach their work with a scholar-mentor mindset to join our collaborative and supportive academic community. Teaching responsibilities include Introduction to Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Research Methods, and established upper-level departmental courses within the applicant’s area of training. We value candidates who maintain an active and sustainable research program that complements their teaching and mentoring.
