MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To ensure complete administration of asset accounting process and capital purchase order approval; providing support to the department and optimal value for the product end-users.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Approve and co-ordinate administration functions for purchase orders
- Perform administration functions on Fixed Asset System
- Create and maintain budgets and co-ordinate relating processes
- Co-ordinate financial controls and processes
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
- Senior Certificate with Accounting as a subject or relevant tertiary qualification
DESIRED EDUCATION:
- Certificate/Diploma in Accounting or relevant Financial Certificate/Diploma
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 - 5 years relevant working experience in a Financial environment
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years experience in a Financial environment; Relevant Fixed Asset accounting experience ;SAP System experience
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- SARS legislation
- Finance/accounting terminology
- Reconciliation skills
- Impact of depreciation and profit & loss
- Different budget types; implications and applicable procedures
- Integrated asset management system
- Knowledge and experience of accounting transactions
- Asset Accounting and Capitalisation policy and legislation
- Overall asset verification process
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
