ROLE RESPONSIBILTILES
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the QA Manager, the QA Tester will be part of the Test group within Engineering. The Engineering team comprises of:
Development
Test
DevOps
The QA Tester Engineer will help the Test Team transition from fully manual testing to a hybrid of manual, automated and API testing to speed our testing process, increase coverage and improve the reliability/scalability of our products. The successful applicant will have experience of several Automated Test tools and demonstrable experience in building Automated test frameworks, they will also have proven experience of CICD.
Initially the role will implement our existing test cases in the most relevant tool however the role will then evolve to designing and implement best testing practices to ensure our products are robust, reliable and deliver the expected functionality.
The QA Tester will need to provide updates on test progress/issues, manage and maintain test related documentation; log and update bugs via bug tracking software; design and execute automated tests, work on a full lifecycle of test tasks as defined by the QA manager.
Working with the Development, DevOps and Test teams to implement Automated Test Frameworks as required
Creating and executing automated Tests based on existing scripts using relevant tools (e.g. PlayWright, Cypress, BugBug)
Creating and executing automated API Tests based on existing tests using relevant tools (e.g. PostMan)
Mentoring other test team members in the creation of automated tests and the use of the relevant tools
Increasing the scope and speed of our testing
Documenting and communicating findings
Verification of defects and fixes
Working to ensure the highest possible quality of our software, documentation, and ways of working
Building excellent working relationships with Development and the rest of the Test, department
Promoting the role and value of testing within the company.
Key Skills & Experience:
Demonstrable experience of creating and implementing Automated Test Frameworks
Demonstrable experience of Advanced Automated Test tools (e.g. PlayWright, Cypress)
Experience of Testing API’s (e.g. PostMan)
Experience of CICD
Knowledge of relevant/necessary coding skills, e.g. Java Script, Python, C++, C#
Knowledge of the software lifecycle specifically those areas relating to Test
Familiarity with Defect tracking and test management software
Experience with the Windows operating system
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience of Agile/SCRUM/Kanban.

Other desirable but not essential experience:
Experience of working in the payments sector, and more specifically a good working knowledge of Bacs is highly advantageous.

LOCATION
Remote (but must be prepared to travel in the UK occasionally to meet at team / company events)
The position is based in the UK.
