The Position

Mill Operator 5

Job Summary

Including but not limited to the following:

• Comply with all Imerys, MSHA and Equipment Manufacturing Safety Policies and Procedures.

• Read quality specifications. Observe operation of equipment to ensure continuity of flow, safety, and efficient operation, and to detect malfunctions.

• Move controls to start, stop, or adjust machinery and equipment that crushes and grinds materials. 

• Record data from operations, testing, and production on specified forms and complete required forms.

• Examine materials products visually or with hands, in order to ensure conformance to established standards. 

• Perform tests applicable for the process or product being produced, set mill gauges to specified fineness of grind.

• Conduct Mill Inspections, audio and visual.

• Conduct conveyor belt inspection of belts, rollers, pulleys, etc.

• Assist in changing screens.

• Lubrication on select assets.

• Visual dust collector inspections.

• PM checks on all equipment.

• Inspections of Visual and Audio Alarms.

• Magnet check and cleaning on the feedbelt.

• Clean and adjust equipment using hand tools. 

• Notify supervisors of needed repairs. 

• Recognize defective products and readjust equipment to eliminate problems.

• Able to understand and follow mill work instructions to ensure proper workflow and finished goods.

• Able to climb up and down stairs/ladders and maneuver around equipment and tight spaces.

• Any other job duties assigned by management.
