We are seeking experienced design professionals with a passion for experimentation, innovation, and problem solving to join our Design Technology community. As a Studio Design Technology Manager, the focus will be on leading BIM and other digital modeling adoption, implementation, and advancement within studio and project environments. The Studio Design Technology Manager will partner with the Design Technology and studio leadership to establish goals and strategic plans in support of studio and project objectives.
What You Will Do
- Lead the implementation, management and execution of BIM/digital modelling pipeline on projects throughout all phases of the design process.
- Partner with Design Technology and studio leadership to monitor and report on model metrics and other analytical data throughout the life of projects.
- Identify and resolve opportunities around model-management to optimize performance and user-experience.
- Establish, communicate, and interpret changes in best practices, protocols, and other related matters.
- Develop project-specific BIM execution plans derived from the Gensler standards framework set by Design Technology leadership.
- Recognize the degree and complexity of a project and develop the right design technology strategy to optimize project performance as well as support and integrate a lean project delivery framework.
- Author / Develop design solutions to address project needs through the use of various tools, scripting and workflows.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with office and studio leaders by improving communication, transparency, and involvement throughout the duration of a project.
- Respond to general design technology support requests at the studio and project level.
- Identify workflows, tools, and efficiencies that will bring value-proposition to our projects.
- Research and develop on a continuous basis, innovative methods based on extensive experience and an understanding of current trends / techniques related to design technology.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training or prior work experience in the building industry.
- Relevant career experience in a project-specific BIM/design technology role of all phases of design and delivery.
- Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit and the Autodesk BIM 360 / Construction Cloud platform.
- Knowledge of Navisworks and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of Dynamo and Grasshopper is preferred.
- Familiarity with design applications such as Rhino, V-Ray, 3DS Max, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, etc.
- Articulate communicator, able to convey design technology concepts to all levels of design and delivery leadership.
- Punctual, able to adhere to deadlines, and have a strong work ethic.
- Creative thinker dedicated to problem solving, research, and innovation.
