The Role:
The Software Product Engineering (SPE) organization is looking for an experienced Quality Engineering Manager who is passionate about leading quality engineering efforts, ensuring product excellence, and driving business outcomes through innovative testing strategies. What You’ll Be Doing :
In this role, you will be responsible for driving and overseeing the quality engineering strategy for cutting-edge applications, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards through robust test automation, continuous integration, and proactive risk mitigation. You will lead the planning, execution, and optimization of testing efforts, define quality processes, and implement the best practices in test automation, performance testing, and AI-driven quality assurance. As a strategic leader, you will mentor and manage a team of quality engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, product management, and DevOps, to embed quality engineering principles across the software development lifecycle. Success in this role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive mindset to enhance software quality, accelerate release cycles, and deliver exceptional user experiences in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategic Quality Engineering: Define, implement, and drive the overall quality strategy for software development and testing. Lead a team of Quality Engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development. Implement a quality-first culture and advocate for test automation, shift-left testing, and CI/CD integration. Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps teams to ensure that quality is embedded in every phase of development.
Test Automation & Engineering Excellence: Oversee the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and backend applications. Establish and optimize continuous testing pipelines to accelerate delivery cycles. Drive the adoption of advanced AI-based testing solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and implement best practices for Agile and DevOps-driven quality engineering. Monitor quality metrics, defect trends, and automation coverage to identify areas for improvement. Introduce data-driven decision-making and analytics to enhance test efficiency and optimize risk-based testing strategies.
Collaboration with SRE & Production Readiness: Work closely with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to integrate real-world performance insights into testing strategies. Ensure that software is resilient, scalable, and secure in production environments.
Mentorship & Team Development: Coach Quality Engineers on test automation, exploratory testing, and best practices. Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and innovation within the team. Conduct technical training sessions and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Agile & DevOps Integration: Serve as a key stakeholder in Agile ceremonies, influencing test strategies and prioritizing quality objectives. Collaborate closely with development and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Drive the adoption of shift-left testing to ensure early defect detection.
User-Centric Quality Focus: Ensure applications deliver a seamless, reliable, and intuitive user experience. Partner with software engineers and product teams to align quality efforts with business goals.

Expertise in Agile, DevOps, and shift-left testing approaches, ensuring early defect detection and mitigation.
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in software testing, particularly in pharmaceutical and regulated industries.
Deep understanding of software development life cycle methodologies (Agile, Scrum, DevOps).
Required Experience:
3+ years of experience managing Quality Engineering teams with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in software testing and test automation.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Proven expertise in test strategy, automation frameworks, and quality governance for web, mobile, API, and AI-based applications.
Strong experience in scalability, performance testing, and capacity management, ensuring test environments support high-availability applications.
Track record of optimizing test automation strategies, improving efficiency through CI/CD pipeline integration.
Proven experience leading quality engineering teams in a regulated industry, understanding compliance, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
Experience managing distributed teams across global locations.
Experience or strong interest in the pharmaceutical domain and patient-facing applications.
Preferred certifications: PMP, PMI, ISTQB Advanced, or equivalent Agile/QA leadership certifications.
Required Technical Skills:
Expertise in test automation frameworks (Selenium, WebdriverIO, Appium, pytest, or Cypress) for web, mobile, and API testing.
Proven experience with DevOps tools & frameworks and working knowledge of Kubernetes and microservices testing.
Hands-on experience in CI/CD pipeline integration, test automation in GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and working with JIRA.
Strong understanding of cloud-based testing environments and cloud platforms like AWS.
Experience in performance and load testing using tools like JMeter.
Ability to define and document best practices for test automation and infrastructure maintenance.
Experience collaborating with engineering teams, strategic vendors, and business stakeholders to improve software quality processes.
Knowledge of security testing, accessibility testing, and regulatory compliance.
