This position is part of Novanta’s Advanced Surgery business unit. Specialized in the field of Minimally Invasive Medicine, WOM develops devices and accessories so that doctors can operate with small cuts. We produce Cameras, Insufflators, Medical Pumps, and tubing that makes diagnosis and treatment easier for everyone. Our insufflators and pump systems dilate cavities in the body and turn previously complicated surgeries into minor procedures. Together with customers, doctors, and technical experts, our teams continuously search for new ways to innovate.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze sourcing markets and develop market expertise.
- Develop sourcing strategies to increase the company's innovation pipeline, drive cost savings and influence industries to transform themselves.
- Support the team in preparing and participating in supplier negotiations.
- Support indirect purchasing process and managing expenses in our global expense management tool.
- Work effectively as an integral member of cross-functional business teams.
- Commercialize new technologies and materials beyond the known industries and suppliers together with R&D.
- Influence individuals both externally and internally and develop the right relationships to perform the above.
- Learn Strategic Purchasing best practices and/or tools (e.g., purchase-to-pay process, distribution, logistics, value stream mapping).
- Further tasks not included in this job description are assigned by the manager verbally or written.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
- Student of master’s degree studies in the field of business administration or (industrial) engineering with a focus on supply chain management or purchasing (university or university of applied science), or equivalent knowledge or experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including a high proficiency in Excel; knowledge in Power BI preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and personal drive.
- Ability to learn new systems, works independently and as a team player.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills in English and German.
