Responsibilities / Tasks

GEA provides sustainable solutions for sophisticated production processes in diverse end-user markets and offers a comprehensive service portfolio. 

For our offices in Alcobendas, we are currently looking for a Regional Category Manager Logistics, Warehouse, Packaging Services WEMEA.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Leads, creates and implements the procurement strategy for regionalized Logistics & Warehousing sub-categories (road freight, packaging, and warehousing) in the WEMEA Region.
  • Supports regional implementation of the procurement strategy for global Logistics & Warehousing sub-categories (airfreight, sea freight, and courier) in the WEMEA Region.
  • Identify and realize cost saving potential, set and control saving targets for the relevant categories.
  • Leads negotiations, ensure contract management, drive procurement activities as regional category manager.
  • Continuously optimize procurement processes and related key figures.
  • Ability to manage & support process changes which bring financial and operational impacts to GEA.
  • Understanding of tendering processes and negotiations with transportation and warehousing providers.
  • Understanding of logistics rate card structures and cost components.
  • Able to identify savings opportunities during operational day-to-day activities

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Master or Bachelor Degree – Business related field
  • At least 5 years of strategic procurement experience required.
  • Negotiation experience required.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional and international teams required.
  • Spanish & English (fluent)
  • Italian (optional)
  • Very good analytical (data) capabilities, problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.       
  • Takes ownership of the work, successes and mistakes    
  • Very good communication skills
  • Strong change management skills
