Job Summary: About the Position: This position is located with Brooke Army Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics in Fort Sa Houston, Texas. This is an open continuous announcement. Major Duties:
- Perform inpatient and outpatient services in accordance with American Society Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition.
- Performing, archiving and preliminary reporting of all pediatric and fetal cardiac ultrasound imaging.
- Utilize practical knowledge of human anatomy and physiology in making recommendations and resolving problems not governed by specific guidelines.
- Perform complete studies on new patients per the ASE for congenital heart patients and fetal echocardiogram.

Qualifications: Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; Performing, fetal or pediatric ultrasounds and/or other diagnostic imaging. Documenting and imaging results. Recommending solutions in unprecedented situations using knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). OR Education: Two full years of graduate level education or a master's degree in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Echocardiography. NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts.
