Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Required to be physically present in service area on average 3-4 days per week.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the development, execution, administration, and evaluation of efficient and effective clinic operations to support AAH’s purpose, values, and strategic initiatives. Ensures safe, quality and efficient patient services leading to overall patient satisfaction.
  • In conjunction with the senior leadership, develops tactics to implement the long-term strategic plan, including strategies for the operational execution to deliver high-value patient care for shared-value and managed care reimbursement models across the integrated delivery system.
  • Responsible for the standardization of operational performance and patient care delivery behaviors and processes across the delivery system.
  • Responsible for the development, facilitation and overall coordination of an ambulatory leadership team that provides effective and consistent direction and support across a broad span of control including a significant clinician and team member panel, multiple diverse delivery sites and a significant breadth of geography.
  • Ensures alignment of clinic services with other AAH services and serves as a liaison to corporate and medical center departments that provide clinical and support services.
  • Supports and is an active participant in physician and APC recruitment, to include plan development for new specialties, implementation timetable, physician contracts, and utilization of clinic space.
  • Facilitates the assimilation of newly hired or affiliated physicians into the group practice setting and manages ongoing communications and relationships with physicians.
  • Drives productivity benchmarks and monitors performance against established internal benchmarks. Monitors the industry trends and benchmarks to ensure services and strategies contribute to the highest quality patient care and increased patient loyalty.
  • Ensures operations and patient care are in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.


Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.


Education Required:

  • Master's Degree in Health Care Administration or related field.


Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 10 years of experience in management of physician clinic administration and management that includes experiences developing, facilitating, and leading clinic/practice operations within a large multi-specialty clinic, and successfully developing relationships with and recruiting physicians.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of effective best practice in clinic operations, and guidelines.
  • An understanding of health care delivery and health care dynamics within a large integrated health care system.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of current trends in health care delivery.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical practice and clinic management, clinic operational structure, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records and general computer applications within a medical practice setting.
  • Strong financial analysis and management, long range planning, and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Skills and demonstrated experience in establishing excellent working relationships and strategic partnering with various teams, physicians, executives, and other employees across a large organization to achieve a shared vision, values and objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, which is necessary to collaborate with management/executives/other organizations.
  • Skills in managing multiple, conflicting, complex, simultaneous demands in geographically dispersed areas.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This position requires travel between clinic sites so there will be exposure to road and weather conditions.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Exposed to a normal office environment.
