Responsible for defining and developing new products, manages cross-organization efforts to ensure approval, then directs their introduction. Plans, develops and implements new products. Products tend to be data- and technology-based (e.g., registration, ecommerce, search, directory, email, advertising products) products also tend to be special features for existing programs (e.g., travel products, entertainment, financial portfolios, up-sell tools, etc.). Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Develops product pricing structure, with Product Manager, using current cost estimates, competitive assessments on pricing and product features, margin and commission guidelines provided by management and market information.
- Supplies pricing, product and application information to the sales force and customer service concerning the product lines.
- Utilizes market information and performs necessary analysis to make recommendations to the Product Manager to adjust product offering based on products and programs found in the marketplace.
- Makes product improvement recommendations to meet changing operational, sales and market needs.
- Helps develop strategies to adjust and promote various product lines, to improve sales and profit.
- Negotiates and communicates pricing information to the sales division personnel and in-house management on special quotes.
- Makes recommendations regarding training needs and assists in training sales force and customer service representatives.
- Reviews pricing strategies to insure company profitability and competition in the marketplace. Performs periodic margin analysis.
- Tracks competitive pricing, performance and distribution practices; researches new competitors and competitive products.
- Prepares and updates database reflecting market activity.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Proficient in research and analysis

- Knowledge of product management strategies
- Knowledge of design and development lifecycles
- Familiarity with prioritization exercises
- Familiarity with user engagement models, particularly in digital
