What is the role?
This role will support the full-cycle recruiting for assigned permanent and temporary staffing requisitions for all client groups within Pet Valu Canada Inc.
What will you do?
1. Full-cycle recruiting for requisitions as assigned including:
- Securing management approval and revised job descriptions
- Writing and posting job ads and making applicant sourcing decisions
- Writing and developing pre-screening questions, testing documents, interview questions and other selection tools
- Consulting with client group managers on applicant profile and selection process
- Mining available databases for candidates
- Screening candidates
- Interviewing candidates
- Conducting reference checks
- Making job offers to candidates and completing initial onboarding, including creation of customized onboarding schedules for new hires
- Attend job fairs and networking events
2. Research job market salary information to support recruiting initiatives as required
3. Develop new partnerships with external parties (i.e. schools, agencies, community
programs) to support recruiting pipelines.
4. Apply internal job evaluation tools and processes to support recruiting and staffing decisions
5. Coordination of the Lunch & Learn program, leveraging internal and external presenters
6. Research and post weekly content for our company LinkedIn page and PV Alumni Group
7. Save all HR and recruiting-related documentation on network for ease of access by department
8. Assisting with front desk reception coverage as required
9. Serving as back-up for the Receptionist at our ROC2 Office
10. Assist with other duties, projects and ad hoc requests, as required
What will you need to succeed?
Education and Experience
- Completion of a post-secondary education in an HR program is required
- Working towards CHRP is an asset
- A minimum of 2 years of in-house full-cycle recruitment experience is required. Ideal candidates will possess a blend of corporate and technical IT recruiting expertise
- Experience in fast-paced, high-volume recruitment is required
- Exposure to managing or supporting strategic projects is a plus
- Experience using an Applicant Tracking System and Workday, an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
Knowledge and Skills
- Service-oriented approach with internal stakeholders
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence others
- Logical problem-solving skills, demonstrated by a Critical Thinking Appraisal
- Very detail orientated and organized with ability to compile data and work to tight timelines
- Able to juggle multiple time-sensitive tasks in an environment with regular interruptions
- Demonstrated knowledge of Ontario ESA and Canada Human Rights Code
