In order to support the Rotor System Design, Airbus Helicopters is looking for a VIE within Design Office - Rotor System Designer (d/f/m).

Definition VIE
The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). Our Mission
The field of activities focuses on rotor blade internal manufacturing support & repairs.
Together with colleagues from stress and general engineering you will support the production team on case by case assessment of damages and detailed descriptions of repair activities. In parallel engineering activities to sustain the German helicopter programs will be performed.
In the frame of transfer of work from Donauworth to Paris Le Bourget you will contribute to the transfer of work activities to Paris by reworking instructions, exchanging with French colleagues on repairs and approaches to ensure a smooth transition between the sites.
Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Design of Rotors systems, following detailed design & compliance to requirements of safety, performance, manufacturing, assembly, reliability for any design change and/or new design.
Substantiation and certification through :
Flight, ground or bench tests (tests requests, preparation, attendance, conclusions)
Analysis
Technical documentations (certification documents with direct discussions with EASA)
Maintenance creation, update or extension
Manage rotor blade manufacturing support
Manage and propose rotor blade repairs solutions
Participate to blades transfer of work from DON to PLB
Desired skills and qualifications
Educated in aeronautical engineering or mechanical engineering with some experience during Internship and working student jobs
Mandatory experience with Catia V5 part design and drawing creation
MS Office basic knowledge
Mandatory knowledge on composite materials
Ideally hands on experience with composite materials
Analytical approach on topics to identify present situation and define actions
Excellent communication skills and team spirit
Open minded and welcome problem attitude and you bring curiosity
You enjoy a transverse and international environment
Fluent in English. French and German would be a plus
