What we want
The Registered Nurse II, under general supervision, provides direct patient care, evaluations, and treatment. Assists with daily operations in assigned clinic area(s), including oversight workflows, coordination of care, and supervision of assigned staff.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Associate degree in Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
Basic Life Support Certification
License and certification must be maintained for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of standard nursing procedures, clinical treatment protocols, and documentation practices.
Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and EMR systems.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced clinic setting.
Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
Ability to supervise clinical staff, delegate tasks effectively, and support team development.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to organize, document, and follow through on patient care plans and operational tasks.
Ability to move and lift up to 35 lbs.
Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care and Treatment
Provides high-quality nursing care through assessments, treatments, and interventions, including administration of medications and therapeutic procedures as directed.
Documents all care activities promptly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Delivers individualized patient education, addressing treatment plans, medication management, and self-care.
Clinic Operations and Support
Supports and helps coordinate the daily operations of assigned clinic areas, including the Nurses Clinic.
Monitors patient flow, identifies inefficiencies, and contributes to ongoing improvements in care delivery.
Assists with the implementation of clinic policies, standards, and procedural updates.
Collaborates with providers and administrative staff to ensure a safe and organized clinical environment.
Staff Supervision and Leadership
Supervises designated nursing or medical support staff by managing workload distribution, scheduling, and coverage planning.
Reviews and approves time sheets, time off requests, and ensures coverage meets operational needs.
Provides coaching and timely feedback to support employee development and professional growth.
Participates in performance evaluations alongside the Chief Nursing Officer.
Program Support and Quality Improvement
Participate in onboarding and training of new staff, ensuring orientation to clinic protocols and standards.
Contributes to quality improvement efforts by gathering feedback, monitoring trends, and recommending changes to enhance care outcomes.
Represents the nursing team in interdisciplinary meetings or process improvement groups, as needed.

The individual in this position may be required to handle Personally Identifiable Information1 (PII) as defined by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations and Protected Health Information2 (PHI) as defined by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. The individual is required to handle PII and PHI in accordance with University Health Services (UHS), Texas A&M University System policies, and all applicable federal regulations.

2PHI refers to any health information that can be linked to a specific individual and is protected under federal privacy regulations.
