Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and welded components.
- Verify compliance with welding codes (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME, API) and project specifications.
- Review and interpret welding procedures, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Monitor welding processes and ensure proper techniques and materials are used.
- Document inspection results, generate reports, and maintain accurate records.
- Identify and report non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with quality control, engineering, and production teams.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality assurance standards.
Requirements
- Certification: AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – Required.
- Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in welding inspection or related field.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of welding codes, metallurgy, and NDT methods.
- Skills: Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Tools: Proficient with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, weld gauges).
- Civil/structural construction inspection experience
- Experience with NDT techniques (UT, RT, MT, PT).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
- Background in structural steel, pipelines, or pressure vessels.
