ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Supervisory-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
o Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize
available resources.
o Requires prioritization and critical thinking skills, a decisive judgement, and ability to work with minimal supervision
in a fast-paced environment.
o Comply with triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines.
o Uses evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality outcomes
and coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
o Identifies barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations.
o Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture,
condition, and circumstance.
o Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
o Practice according to professional and ethical standards as noted in the ANA Code of Ethics and Colorado State
Nurse Practice Act.
o Demonstrates caring attitudes and behaviors to develop therapeutic relationships and engage in patient and family
teaching as appropriate
o Perform other duties as assigned.


Organization-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
o Demonstrates 100% commitment to performance in accordance with the CHOICE values of MRH and representing
the organization in a positive and professional manner.
o Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with all
patients, staff, and vendors.
o Adheres to MRH attire/dress code per policies and procedures.
o Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain a steady level of productivity; self-motivated; and manages activity and time.
o Completes annual education, training, in-service, and licensure/certification requirements; and attends departmental
and organizational staff meetings or reads meeting minutes.
o Maintains patient confidentiality at all times

o Reports to work on time as scheduled; completes work within designated timeframes.
o Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement and continuous quality
improvement activities.
o Strives to uphold regulatory requirements to ensure continual compliance with departmental, hospital, state, and
federal regulations and policies.
o Follows policies and procedures for infection control, safety, and risk management to ensure a safe environment for
patients, the public, and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
o Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions with a valid driver’s license).
o Must be able to legally work in the United States.
o Must be able to pass a background check.
o Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
o Must complete employee health meeting.


Required Education/Licensure/Certification:
o Unencumbered RN License – Colorado or Compact State.
o Current BLS - required within 1 year.
o ACLS – required within 1 year.
o PALS and/or ENPC – required within 1 year.
o TNCC – required within 1 year.
o STABLE – required within 1 year.
o NRP – required within 1 year.


Experience:
o 2 years hospital nursing experience preferred.
o 1 year Emergency Department or Critical Care Nursing preferred

Position Classification:  Non-Exempt

Compensation Range: $40.36 to $60.54 (Includes 15% for PRN status)
