What You’ll Do
Team Leadership
- Lead, manage, and support a team of field-based Clinical Genomics Specialists in the Americas region to drive performance and engagement.
- Set clear expectations, define goals, and provide regular coaching and feedback to ensure individual and team success.
- Support professional development and career progression through training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence aligned with ONT’s values and business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize team structure, territory alignment, and resource allocation to maximize impact.
Strategic Planning and Commercial Execution
- Collaborate with regional commercial and executive leadership to develop short- and long-term clinical commercial strategies for the Americas (AMR) region, aligned with corporate objectives and growth targets.
- Lead the execution of the regional clinical strategy within the assigned territories, working in partnership with local account and technical teams.
- Monitor and report on business performance against assigned targets; identify and implement adjustments to optimize outcomes.
Key Customer Engagement and Collaboration
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with executives, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other influential stakeholders aligned with ONT’s commercial priorities.
- Identify and support strategic collaboration opportunities focused on application or methods development and evaluation; serve as a sponsor throughout planning and implementation phases.
- Promote and support customer advocacy and endorsement initiatives to expand ONT’s influence and visibility in the clinical market.
Business Intelligence Gathering and Reporting
- Actively gather real-time market intelligence, including customer feedback, competitive activity, and evolving market dynamics.
- Report current and projected business performance, along with relevant market insights, to local and executive stakeholders.
- Provide critical external input to support product development, marketing strategy, and commercial planning efforts.
Provide Clinical Market Segment Expertise
- Enable team to be local expert on clinical market dynamics, trends, and applications, providing insight and guidance to internal commercial teams.
What You Bring
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical or Life Sciences
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience with a proven track record in a commercial leadership role within the clinical or translational genomics market
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a field-based team
- Established customer network in molecular pathology, human genetics, oncology, and infectious disease
- Experience managing commercial or healthcare collaborations and partnerships
- Strong understanding of the clinical genomics landscape, including key players and technology adoption drivers and barriers
- In-depth knowledge of the clinical market from translational research to molecular diagnostics
- Familiarity with genomics technologies and their application in healthcare settings
- Understanding of how nanopore sequencing features can address diverse clinical questions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experienced at team coaching; assessing performance and providing development feedback
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently under pressure in a matrixed sales and service environment
Preferred:
- Master’s or PhD in a BioMedical or Life Science discipline
- MLS/ASCP certification or equivalent
- Experience developing and executing tactics to drive commercial growth in emerging markets, particularly clinical/healthcare
- Direct or related experience with clinical testing workflows, from sample to report
- Understanding of payer and reimbursement models in assigned geography
- Familiarity with regulatory and clinical guidelines in genomics segments (e.g., oncology, rare disease, infectious disease)
- Commercial orientation and market insight
- Awareness of the challenges related to clinical test development and validation using sequencing technologies
- Understanding of region-specific market access requirements
- Negotiation skills

The salary for this role is between $134,000 and $217,000 USD. The salary offered will reflect the skills and experience of the candidate.
Certain roles within ONT are eligible for annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance.
