Description
The Development Director leads the organization’s fundraising activities (including donor cultivation, management, special events and acknowledgement), grant management (including research, writing and reporting), and resource development functions, and outreach and engagement efforts to raise public awareness about youth homelessness, runaway prevention and the critical need for services. The Development Director will serve as an ambassador for NRS, helping position NRS as a national leader on runaway, homeless and youth in crisis related issues and working to foster a culture of philanthropy and fund development throughout the organization. This position oversees all NRS marketing & communications functions, fundraising and engagement efforts.
Requirements
Core Responsibilities:
- Work with the CEO and Board Engagement Committee to develop short- and long-term fundraising goals that include actionable strategies for meeting and exceeding those goals through grants, sponsorships, gifts, donations, and fundraising events;
- Plan, coordinate, and assure implementation of strategies to develop donors and contributions including volunteer and donor management, research, cultivation, and gift processing;
- Analyzes and apply revenue and fundraising trends to predict future opportunities for expansion and to avoid any downtrends in individual, corporate or foundation gifts;
- Oversee relationship development and management with major donors by coordinating communication with the NRS Board of Directors, the NRS Leadership Team and the Development Team;
- Develop reports, analytical assessments, and other data relevant for impact and outcome measurements for social media, website traffic and other communications strategies;
- Supervise the development team including student interns and outside vendors and consultants; and
- Attend NRS Board of Directors and the Resource Development Committee Meetings.
