What's your day like?

As a Receptionist, you're the first impression - the person who sets the tone when someone walks through the door or picks up the phone. Whether it's a client, visitor, or public official, you'll be there to greet them with professionalism, warmth, and care. Your day will include answering and directing calls through a multiline phone system, keeping accurate and up-to-date records, and making sure everyone who reaches out gets the right information and support.

Beyond the front desk, your presence will help create a calming, welcoming environment for individuals facing life's toughest challenges, including those navigating developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or substance use disorders. You'll handle everyday tasks independently, using sound judgment, patience, and compassion. You'll also keep the lobby neat and inviting, making sure plants are cared for and materials are organized to reflect the respectful, client-centered space we strive to maintain.

Would you be a great Receptionist?

If you're someone who thrives in a person-centered environment and enjoys helping others feel at ease, this could be the perfect fit. We're looking for someone with at least one year of experience in a receptionist, customer service, or administrative support role - ideally in a setting where sensitivity and professionalism are key, like healthcare or social services. Comfort with basic office procedures and handling a multiline phone system is important, but just as essential is your ability to stay organized and calm, even on busy days.

What makes someone successful in this role is a friendly, approachable attitude and the ability to communicate clearly with people from all walks of life, especially those experiencing mental health challenges, substance use concerns, or developmental disabilities. Being familiar with our program's location and services will help you confidently guide visitors and clients. A welcoming presence, patience, and a commitment to creating a respectful front office space will help you shine in this role.

Knowledge and skills required for the position:

  • One year of experience in a receptionist, customer service, or administrative support role within a sensitive and professional work environment, such as healthcare or social services.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
