We are looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our team in Chicago, IL. This role involves constructing, repairing, and installing building frameworks, furniture, and other wood-based structures for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work from blueprints or technical drawings with minimal supervision.
Pay $25-30 an hour
Key Responsibilities:
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, metal, and other materials.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
Install doors, windows, cabinets, trim, and other fixtures.
Repair and maintain existing wooden structures and fixtures.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely.
Maintain a clean and organized worksite, following all safety protocols.
Work independently or collaboratively to meet project deadlines.
Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in carpentry preferred.
3+ years of carpentry experience (apprentice or journeyman level).
Proficient in using a variety of carpentry tools and equipment.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong math and measurement skills.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
