SUMMARY
Family Service League is seeking a full-time Weekend Supervisor for a homeless shelter in Huntington, NY. The Weekend Supervisor will be responsible for conducting client assessments and ultimately assisting clients in achieving self- sufficiency through advocacy, counseling, and resource referrals. The Weekend Supervisor will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks to ensure effective and efficient operation serving the clients. The Weekend Supervisor will ensure procedures are being followed and serve as a lead during shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Supervisor will serve as the lead on shift for all clients and staff.
- Perform intake for new clients upon arrival to shelter.
- Ensure all daily notes, communication logs are updated and accurate on shift.
- Positively include others to achieve results that are in their best interest.
- Works closely with staff to ensure a safe shelter environment.
- Works closely with emergency services vendors.
- Identify maintenance issues and ensure they are completed.
- The Supervisor will provide ongoing support and counseling for clients in reaching their goals.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions.
- Positively influence others.
- Negotiate conflict resolution and crisis intervention as needed.
- Conduct regular perimeter checks for safety.
- The Supervisor will issue violations for breaking of rules.
- Open lockers and sheds for clients.
- Document and oversee clients while they self-administer medication.
- Serve meals.
- Supervise bedtimes, distribute bed rolls, and oversee linens are placed in laundry bin for pick up.
- Routine bed and room check to ensure rules are being followed.
- Daily bathroom checks to ensure the safety of all clients and document time.
- Access donation closet for clothing as needed.
- Oversee shower times and distribute toiletries as needed.
- Accurately report and document in detail all incidences that occur onsite.
- Transport clients in the Agency vehicle, as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of related experience required.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills required.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, required.
Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License required.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting and standing for extended periods of time, as well as moderate lifting.
