Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont is looking for a Rating Specialist to join our Financial Integrity team. COMPENSATION: The base salary range for this position is $57,000 - $75,000. Additional compensation opportunities and incentives will be detailed during the interview process. Please note that the range listed above is our good faith estimate of the hiring range for this role. If you are hired at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, competencies, education, experience, and internal equity across the current team. LOCATION: This role can work fully remote. For employees in Vermont, Blue Cross has transitioned to a hybrid workplace where employees within driving distance of our Berlin, VT office work Wednesdays in the office with flexibility to work remotely the rest of the week.
Rating Specialist Responsibilities:
- The Rating Specialist provides support to both the Underwriting and Actuarial departments. This position requires a strong knowledge of the following areas:
- Computing rates for group accounts, both renewing and prospective
- Preparing financial reports illustrating rate calculations
- Ensuring established review protocols are followed
- Development and maintenance of the company’s experience rating systems
- Researching and analyzing to assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the experience rating formula and rating results
- Working closely with Actuarial to implement new rating factors and model changes and thoroughly tests those changes
Rating Specialist Qualifications:
- BS in Math, Finance, Computer Science, or closely related field required
- 3 – 5 years of closely related experience required
