Job Description:

The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University is seeking a dynamic, service-oriented professional to join the Office of Career and Employment Services as a Program Coordinator. This position serves as the first point of contact for the office and provides essential support to the law school’s externship program and broader career services operations.

The Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Career Services and works closely with the Director of Externships, staff, faculty, students, and external employers. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced academic environment.

Salary: $51,000 - $58,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties:

The successful candidate will be responsible for and have duties in the following areas:

  • Serves as the first point of contact for the Office of Career Services, responding to inquiries and providing information to students, staff, faculty, and employers.

  • Support the administration of the externship program, including posting opportunities, managing databases, and assisting with student and employer communications.

  • Coordinate logistics for career-related events, workshops, and student programs, including scheduling, setup, and communication.

  • Draft and publish externship and job postings on the internal job board and other approved platforms.

  • Track student appointments, advising sessions, and drop-in visits using CRM software and other data systems.

  • Generate regular reports and summaries to support program assessment and strategic planning.

  • Assist in evaluating program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on data analysis and stakeholder feedback.

  • Develop and distribute promotional and informational materials to support the externship program and office initiatives.

  • Maintain professional relationships with students, faculty, external employers, and community partners.

  • Provide general administrative support, including scheduling, office coordination, and supply management.

  • Respond to phone and email inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Organize and execute student programs and other Career Services events.

  • Physical presence at the workplace is an essential function or requirement of this job.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the department and/or ASU.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with CRM software in a career services environment.

  • Experience working in a higher education environment (ASU experience preferred).

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and database.

  • Evidence of high attention to deal and critical thinking skills.

  • Experience working with confidential information.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high volume office environment with constant deadlines and changing priorities.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.

  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills, including composition, grammar, spelling and proofreading skills.

Working Environment:

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse. 

  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.

  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. 

  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.

  • Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to, computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.

  • Daily physical attendance ASU Law’s downtown Phoenix campus.
