INSURANCE SALES LICENSING & OPERATIONS LEAD

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

This role is responsible for providing management of carrier appointments, agent licensing, and administrative support to both internal and external customers within the insurance sales agency business line.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates and connects with various stakeholders such as Insurance and Travel Leadership.

  • Updates intranet online documentation with insurance industry changes and new reference materials.

  • Processes Insurance Licensing internal requests including business cards, password management, code requests and carrier policy verification requests.

  • Manages the Insurance Agent licensing process so that agents meet all requirements to sell P&C and L&D insurance.

  • Manages all insurance carrier appointments for admitted and non-admitted carrier appointments within the agency.

  • Manages Insurance Agent carrier onboarding/offboarding processes, including carrier appointments, affiliations, and agency codes.

  • Responsible for managing agent license renewals, issuing continuing education vouchers, and non-resident licensing.

  • Manages resident and non-resident Agency licenses; making sure AAAWA stays in compliance with WAOIC and other state regulations.

  • Works with the Sales Senior Leadership to manage Carrier Marketing representatives/Territory managers to ensure contacts are up to date.

  • Responsible for general office administration tasks, such as calendar management, building presentations, ordering office supplies, and file maintenance.

  • Responsible for Sales event coordination.

  • Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.

  • Incorporates AAA’s vision, mission and values in day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to AAA’s vision mission and values.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job does not have supervisory responsibility.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 2+ years’ experience in office support or administrative role

  • 2+ years’ experience in an insurance agency administrative role

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree in business, accounting, or similar field

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Active WA State Property & Casualty Insurance license (preferred)

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Knowledgeable of current insurance regulations and insurance industry developments with Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner

  • Competent in MS Office, including Excel, and navigating the internet.

  • Ability to handle confidential documents and information.

  • Ability to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.

  • Skilled at working independently; able to prioritize and complete assignments with minimal direction.

  • Skilled in handling urgent situations professionally and willing to take extra measures when solving problems.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing, including effective use of listening skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

 

SALARY:

  • Hiring Range: $28.83 - $34.57 per hour

  • Full Pay Band for the Role: $28.83 - $40.36 per hour

     

  • Actual pay will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Hybrid work from home and office required (typically 2 days in office / 3 days remote).

  • The physical environment is typical of a standard office space.  It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work.  Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines. 

 

OTHER:

  • Equipment used: Computer, phone, various virtual technologies and programs, other office equipment.

  • Travel: Rarely Travel
