Come work for one of Hawai’i’s Best Places to Work in 2024!
Are you great with people, passionate about the environment and seeking a relaxed, fun workplace? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
PacWhale Eco-Adventures is looking for Pursers for our upcoming season.
You'll work a variety of ecotours out of Ma'alaea and/or Lahaina harbor, promoting the mission of our non-profit parent organization.
As a Purser with PacWhale Eco-Adventures, you will:
- Work as a deckhand, assisting in the safe navigation and proper operations of the vessel, ensuring a safe environment for all passengers
- Prepare, display and serve food and beverages
- Monitor and replenish supply inventories
- Monitor and reconcile your bank for saleable items
- Clean vessels
Our ideal applicant will have a high school diploma or GED, experience in food service, retail sales or any type of customer service, and have commercial boating experience (or know they won't get seasick). This is a physically demanding job. Already living on-island and being a strong swimmer who is able to work long days in a hot/humid/wet environment aboard a moving vessel at sea will set you apart.
This is an hourly, non-exempt, full-time position with pay from $16.20/hr., based on skills/experience, plus tips and commission.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor work visas for this position.
We provide a thorough training program, free uniforms, health insurance and some amazing perks.
The work you do helps support the mission of Pacific Whale Foundation, a 501(c)(3), by working to protect the ocean through science and advocacy and inspire environmental stewardship.
Come be part of something bigger!
