About the Department
The City of Jefferson is currently accepting applications for a Customer Service Representative for Jefferson City Utilities. This position will provide excellent customer service; greet customers; collect payments; answer billing questions; deal with delinquent accounts; set up new customer accounts; input data and perform other clerical duties related to Jefferson City Utilities sewer billings.
Position Duties
Receives payments and posts to customer accounts.
Completes monthly billing.
Opens and closes customer accounts.
Answers inquiries about customer accounts both in person and over the phone.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures; business English, spelling, grammar, and arithmetic; use of office equipment. Ability to make moderately complex decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures; maintain office records; prepare accurate reports; perform office management details without referral to a supervisor; and computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Mental: Ability to concentrate on work and maintain accuracy with constant interruption; perform numerical detail work with speed and accuracy, make difficult mathematical computations, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
Other Qualifications
This position will work Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
