SUMMARY:
The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for set-up and run on repeat or proven part(s) with simple to intermediate complexity with direction from area Lead or Supervisor.

JOB:
- Responsible for utilizing shop paper procedure including updates, signatures and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities.
- Load parts (Ability to load and run parts per Manufacturing plan or Product Specifications)
- Monitor tooling wear and changing tools as required.
- Inspect parts with mechanical gauges (calipers, mics, height gauges, pins, etc.)
- Able to read blueprints.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T
- Meet job standard times consistently. Communicate with the lead or supervisor when jobs are over or under called out standards.
- Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines (Navigate through menus)

- Able to perform some basic machine functions while in MDI mode.
- Clock in and off operations according to sequence number of the work order.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience
- Enrolled in or Completion of Machine Tool Technology program a plus
- Experience with Okuma/Fanuc controls a plus
- Experience running CNC lathes with Live tooling
PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
- Visual acuity: near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
- Hearing ability: ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
- Frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
- High noise levels from operating machines
- Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts
- Breathing fumes, dust, and mist
- Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
SAFETY:
