About the Department

The Department of Corrections, Division of Health & Rehabilitation Services, is recruiting for a Mental Health Clinician 3, based out of the Anchorage Probation Office in Anchorage, Alaska.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Supervise and oversee the department’s Institutional Discharge Project Plus (IDP+) and Assess, Plan, Identify and Coordinate (APIC) programs that provide transitional services for mentally ill inmates releasing back into the community.
- Coordinate case management of program referrals including determining program eligibility, consulting on cases, identifying resources, and working with community partners.
- This position, and the team of five mental health clinicians it supervises, all work closely with program clients and involved parties, including institutional clinicians, community resources, probation officers, guardians, attorneys, and Mental Health Courts to secure the best possible solution for a release.

This position is located in an office setting at the Anchorage Probation Office in downtown Anchorage. This position works closely with a team of reentry mental health clinicians, institutional staff, and community partners.

Some positions require the incumbent be licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Professional Counselor. This requirement will be addressed in the job posting.

RECRUITMENT DIFFICULTIES
Starting salary may be approved up to Step D - $3,892.00, if criteria are met.

A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN/ACOMS. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally, security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
